I had the opportunity to submit a question to Mayor Villaraigosa speaking today at the National Press Club today. I wanted to know beyond the politics of immigration what words of encouragement he would offer to the millions of immigrant youth. His response was one that all should hear and apply to life.

“Reach for the stars and follow your dreams.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

Don’t loose this sense of the possible.

Make sure you keep the cycle of humanity moving forward by

when you get through the door, make sure someone else gets through the door after you.”
